Love this nice intimate setting for our annual fundraiser. Collaborations featured several duets with singers performing together for the first time. Three young boys ; Matthew Tilt, Tayne Lewis and Van Dollesin graced the stage for the first time, singing solos, with back up singers and playing the keyboard.
The PAC Models took on the challenge of doing a combination of dancing and modelling to the well-known classics: Hit the road jack, How will I know, Walking on Sunshine and Timber. The performers became so familiar with the songs that they learnt all the lyrics too. Our youngest member Danielle McKee modelled for the first time in these acts.
Something a little different was seen in the body percussion act performed by the Highlands Intermediate troupe members and their interpretive mime act “Time after time”. The leaders did a great job and they had lots of fun choreographing these acts. Some singers were also challenged to try acapella and use their voices for background sound effects too. Matching performers that complemented each other ensured we had some stunning collaborations.
“Stand by me”, the finale was led by Mitch Lagera and Valya Bykova. These two singers shared their vocal talents with the audience, trying different collaborations with younger performers. It was great to have the older performers supporting the less experienced ones. The awe in the younger ones faces and amazement that they have these opportunities to learn from so many different people was unforgettable. Pure collaboration !
